Zellers Rapid Response to Boots Custom Overcaps

Whilst the focus of the UCP and Zeller Plastik business in the U.K. is high volume injection moulding with in-line assembly and lining equipment, the company also provides the flexibility to satisfy small run custom moulding projects for its key customers. Utilizing the facilities and standard tooling bolsters housed at Zeller Plastik's Lenhausen plant in northern Germany, Zeller U.K. was able to develop a custom overcap in natural polypropylene for Boots Soltan 200ml Sun Spray as part of the Soltan 2007 re-design by producing tooling inserts. This provided both a low cost of entry for Boots and a shortened lead-time, taking just nine weeks from approval of drawings to full production.
