GCS has widespread experience in bi-injection technology and, at UCP, custom-designed closures for L’Oreal and Reckitt-Benckiser for the Elvive and Clearasil brands have provided an excellent foundation for the UK business to promote this know-how.  The machine capability at Norwich includes two tri-injection machines capable of moulding three colours / materials in the same moulding cycle.

Bi-injection closures are popular in terms of both function and aesthetics.  The ability to combine two materials in different colours can provide additional shelf impact but this technology can also be harnessed to improve the function of a closure where characteristics are required that can only be realised via the use of two completely different polymer types, such as pull-ring tamper-evidence or soft touch effects.
