CRC Certification

UCP has more than 30 years experience in developing quality child-resistant closure (CRC) systems and we know that it is a technically complex subject, which can be time-consuming and expensive if not handled correctly.  We are glad to handle CR testing and accreditation of our closures as part of our service, however costs incurred by external UK accredited testing houses will be charged at cost.

A common misunderstanding is that the closure itself is ‘child resistant’ when in fact this is merely a generic term.  If a product such as a liquid pharmaceutical (governed by the M.H.R.A. in the UK) or a household chemical (covered by the CHIPS regulations) requires child resistant accreditation, then the package combination must be approved at least to ISO 28317:1993 or the more recent ISO 8317:2003.  As one of the foremost authorities in Europe on this subject, we provide comprehensive advice and support to our customers.  Our membership of the Child-Safe Packaging Group means we are fully updated on all legislation changes and how these are likely to affect our customers in the future.
