UCP is represented on the Packaging Federation and we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously.  Recent investments in infrastructure and power-saving moulding machines has lead to a progressive improvement in the amount of power used as a proportion of polymer converted.

Our R&D Department continually looks for opportunities to lightweight closures and, through advances in design and mould technology, we have been able to deliver significant savings to customers in this area whilst reducing the weight of packaging entering the waste-stream.

We have also launched a  joint project with the University of East Anglia to understand our carbon footprint and to assist in finding practical ways to reduce it.  We recognise that our customers are under constant pressure to reduce the environmental impact of their products and can assist in optimising pack design to reduce weight and cost.
